Just got back from the flick so it's too soon to give anything but my immediate reaction. Happily, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Jay was brilliant; best he's been. And Lynch (and all the others) were right - the flick was full of laughs.

I feel obliged say, Ebert (who's getting way too much shit on this board -- Neil, I'm looking at YOU! [kidding]) was right about Chris Rock's dialogue. That was the only part of the film I didn't like. (Well, that and the "I wish I was still dating a lesbian" line - I prefer the oh-so-slightly open-ending of 'Chasing Amy'.)

Very well done, besides that, Mr Smith et al. Five flicks in, and five flicks I've really enjoyed. I thank you(, again).

(Does anyone have a transcript of the 'no gay people were harmed during the making of this movie' ?)

And, if you care: House was maybe 70% full, and laughs were abundant and loud for the 10:15 showing.

Al
