Well, I do agree that it didn't fit into the "askewniverse" so to speak. But I doubt that was the point. My guess is...Kevin is sick of doing dick and fart jokes and wants to end it all on a high-note and move on. :) Personally, I pretty much laughed all the way through. The theatre was packed, lots of cheering, clapping and laughing. Everyone especially loved the part where Bob calls Jay a fucking idiot.
Anyway, good job guys. I enjoyed it, and thought it didn't have the serious undertones of previous works, it was funny as hell and I can't wait to see what Kevin's next work is.
I'm sad to see the end of movies revolving around dick and fart jokes...but I have a feeling that no matter what he does, he will always have one in there for us.
