Tom Atkinson in the Village Voice absolutely SLAMMED the flick. Especially
Jay's performance. Yeouch. I don't know which Voice critic has done Kev's
flicks in the past (I do remember the CHASING AMY review was very
flattering), but Wow!
On the flip, Manhola Dargis of the LA Weekly gave a mixed to positive
review, basically saying that the jokes were hit and miss, but Smith fans
should be pleased. I've only read one Dargis review of a Smith flick and
that was her review of DOGMA and though she took Kev to task for the visual
side of the flick, everything else about the review was a rave. Along with
her recent review of APOC.NOW REDUX, her DOGMA review is her best, I feel
she really nailed the appeal of the film. If you want, try and seek out her
