It came down to being a space issue re: Svenning getting arrested. I'd already chosen to put the alternate end sequence with Jason Lee's voice-over, and that was cut to go directly to Lee after Svenning yells, "Him???"- the cut wouldn't have worked if Id put the footage of Svenning being arrested back in since when we cut to Lee he says, "Yeah, me..."- and I figured that since the footage of Svenning being arrested was already on the TV edit, people would be able to see it somewhere.
As for the Affleck outtakes, I *DID* want to include the uncut take of Affleck with Trish on the DVD, but at the time we were putting together the DVD all of the outtakes, etc., from Universal were in the hands of the TV dept. because they were putting together the TV version at the time. As such, all of the deleted scenes and such were compiled from tapes that Kevin personally owns, and he didn't have an uncut dailies take of Affleck with Trish so we couldn't put it on there.
But other than that, believe me, pretty much every scrap of deleted footage is on the DVD.

: maybe i'm being an idiot but isn't that stuff on the dvd? I've seen it, for sure, but i don't know where if it wasn't on the dvd.
