I noticed, yes, but I wouldn't exactly say his instruments were functioning properly, would you? I'm pretty sure that his ship got a bad case of fucked up when it hit that purple shit out there in space. Perhaps his "dash board" (and the rest of his pod) had something, oh, I don't know, majorly wrong with it due to all the stuff that happened to it? He did go and visit a planet of freakin' monkeys, after all. Snootch.
