I'm not sure how being on a Mac would cause that. I don't use Mac's (more of a PC person, myself), but from my expirence, they're about the same as PC's when it comes to web surfing (although they are superior for graphic design).
What browser are you using? Did you double click the submit button? Also, if the browser timed out, it could have posted your reply twice. Just a guess.
