Well if you ever worked for the corporate tyrants that are HOME DEPOT, you would know where I'm coming from.
Sure it's cool for them to underpay me, and over work me, and cancel my shifts anytime they want if business isn't meeting their lofty projections.
But try telling them that you can't work their slavish 4-10pm shift one night because you are making your feature film debut.
Do they care? Yes, but only about the bottom line.
It was perfectly cool for them to call me off today, and take 6 hours of work from my pocket. But try taking three hours out of their pocket and they flip...why? Because the company makes a 4300% profit off of my labor cost on the store's WEAKEST register.
Fuck them.
But then I gotta deal with my mother, the lady paying for my education in the field that this directly concerns. HOW CAN I MISS ANOTHER DAY OF WORK? I HAVE NO MONEY? DON'T I CARE? WHAT WILL I DO? DIDN'T I SPEND 100 DOLLARS in RED BANK 2 DAYS AGO? AM I A DOUCHEBAG?
Fuck no. What the hell? For me, this is ground zero of the rest of my life. Sure being an extra in one scene means dick to those SAG boys, but fuck I've been waiting five years for this.
Next year I'll be doing movies and shit professionally?
