I didn't mean to imply any incorrect information on your part -- poor choice of
wording on my part. I meant only to offer at least nominal elaboration on the use of
anamorphic lenses versus matting an image (and in the case of 1.85:1 aspect ratio,
I was wrong, as Vincent very politely pointed out).
The Ultimate Edition Terminator 2 DVD has a nice demonstration of the use of Super
35 and what portions of the frame are used for the 4:3 and 2.35:1 versions.
And I don't know squat about 70mm.
In fact, I don't know a whole hell of a lot -- I shoot on video, for cryin' out loud,
and only just starting to work in 16:9 (which I hope is a step in the right direction at
least).
