: When it was first coming out after Sundance, there was a big controversy concerning it getting a NC-17 rating b/c of language. I saw this on MTV news and Kurt Loder told everyone to see this movie and that it was hysterical. Gotta love Kurt loder. Anyway, I waited a couple months and it premiered at a theater here in Pittsburgh called The Beehive which was an awesome place to see movies. This was way back in the early to mid nineties and you could drink beer and watch a movie. They had the big indies play there soon after their release. Anyway, I saw Clerks there and it was awesome.
