Well, I think Kevin James just wants to have everyone laugh at his works, so he has to go to the highest spot he can find so tat more people can see him. That's why he appeared on Comedy Central last night(Half-Baked is a great movie). If he didn't need to spread the word, he'd probably appear at smaller events such as the film festival you are talking about.
