The theater seemed mostly made up of VA fans, although I was with a group that included two 45-50 yearold non-VA fans. They seemed to really like the movie. A few more bucks will go to the total gross of Mallrats and Amy because they will soon be renting them =)
One of the biggest pops of the evening was for a trailer that was tagged on the movie. The trailer, for "The Legend Of Iron Monkey", got TONS of laughs where the voice actor proclaims : "THE LEGEND OF IRON MONKEY!". What a horrible title.
The "View Askew" line in the opening credit got cheers and applause, always a tingly feeling =)
Most of the jokes hit like a mo-fo, although I think the TV spots and theaterical trailer might have taken the impact out of some of them.
Some (of the very smallest) visual jokes went unnoticed in the movie by a lot of people, but this means the repeated viewings (as many people said they would be attending) will be throughly enjoyed.
I just have to say this - CLASSY ENDING KEVIN! AWESOME!
