I saw that too. The only reason I can think of is that it's the same type of thing as Chasing Amy. Bob tells the story of Amy and Jay says he never heard it before. When bob is finished, Jay says "why do you always have to tell that gay story?" Kev's answer to this, if I remember correctly, was that it's just Jay is a stoner. Sorta like the way Randel can't tell time.
