I mean, people went in there expecting the same indie films they had seen, and got pissed off because young people of hollywood were in it? Jeez! If I had gotten famous from a movie like American Pie, I would fuckin love it if Kevin Smith even CONSIDERED me for a role in his flick. And really, if Jay and Silent Bob weren't such break-out characters, would Kevin really make a whole movie about them? That's "pop culture selling out" right there! I think that people just expected too much "integrity" from Kevin, when really, the only reason he made the movie was for the fans. And when you do that, you throw any "hollywood integrity" out the window. If Kevin had the type of integrity all you guys are talking about, this movie wouldn't have even been made! So really, God bless Kevin Smith and his utter lack of "integrity," because it's made for some fucking great films, and I'm sure will lead to more.
