Just checked out the new flick up here in Moosic PA at cinemark, (Anyone else saw it there?). I am originally from Sayerville and moved up a year ago but wish I was still in Jersey to see the movie. Would love to have seen it with locals. Fucking bravo man. Although I am upset to see Jay and Bob put away, I can honestly say I feel better about it after seeing this flick. You gave the guys there do respect. Your whole "sign on the back of the car said..." thing...FUCKING HYSTERICAL!!!! A great delivery!!! Missed the following dialogue because everyone was laughing so hard. The theatre was probably 86% full. Fucking great. You totally outdid your self. Mallrats just dropped from number 1 to number 2 on my list of most re-watchable askew films. I will re-see this to make sure the dollars add to your gross and not Nicky Kidmans, although I dug The others. (Incidentally, I believe me and my fiancee were the only 2 people to stay for the second movie and the theatre for the others turned out to be a sellout!)
Anyway, Loved the flick. Bet everyone on this board who was yelling "Burton ripped off Kevin" will love the taste of their foot in their mouth after catching the whole apes scene. (Yes, I realize you payed homage to the original Heston version, but tell that to these youngsters on here.)
Also, going to board members houses and kicking their ass's. Fucking great man. The Scooby Bit. Priceless. Potzers as the studio name for Holden, very clever. The whole turning to the camera thing, used perfectly. The matt and ben scene, bashing each others flicks, I almost pissed myself. The Biggs and Van Der Beek scene, same thing. Some of the funniest shit ever. To see them taking pop shots at themselve is fun. Even the ape as the scream killer, what a hoot.
I think you touched base with almost everything that has gone on in the last 7 years since clerks came out.
Things i didn't see
Any superman referances
Walt Flannagins Dog - would have liked to see the pooch
Any Derris Referance
Would have liked to have seen Julie Dwyer, even if only in a flashback
Otherwise, christ. Amazing.
Oh yeah, were was Ethan? I thought both Willams were present? Maybe not. My bad.
Fucking hysterical though. A great way to end a set of flicks. Please guys. Make this DVD superior to everything else. I want to see the first triple disc askew flick. A whole disk covering everything from clerks to know. Video from everything you guys did. From the trailers at the Baise theatre, an event I will never forget, to the vulgarthons, and so on. A nice hour or 2 look back on the world of askew with all new interviews. A blooper real with never before scene bloopers from all the movies. A slide show of all of the actors in age progression order. Like Jay from clerks to Jay from "strike back", and so on. The tv specials that are not found anywhere else if you can get rights to em. All of the trailers for all of the movies on this disc including the internet trailers. Cast bio for all the cast memebers, not just the big guys like you, jay, affleck and such. Everyone. Fill the fucker with easter egg galores. A jay and bob video game. A trivia quiz covering all the movies where each right answer reveals a cool pay off like an extra special blooper, a take of a scene different then the released. And hey, a thanks to the board members again like at the end of the flick. I don't post as often as most, but I always read the board. Just about daily. Would love to see my handle on a DVD. I don't know. Just make it greater then anything before.
Hey kev. Thanks for making this movie. It was fun. Sometimes we posters are real cock suckers when it comes to the bitching and complaing about release dates and shit. You could have said, "fuck em, why try to please em." Instead, you blew away alot of o ur expectations. You put some serious thought into this movie. You made it the best it could be. Damn your the man.
Oh yeah, and how much would I have to pay you for one of those black leather suits that Eliza Dushko (sp?) wore? Name it, it's worth it. Would mind an ali larter suit either. Good crist. I don't know about stealing a monkey, but I may just have to spank the monkey, or better yet...Oh honey....I'm coming to bed now.....
