Finally, I break the barrier of reader and become a poster. What can I say? JSBSB was fanTASTic! Granted, the flick is going to drive continuity buffs bonkers for weeks, but the movie is so BELOW the need for anal retentive cataloguing that it would be fruitless. This is a film to be enjoyed for all that it is - a self-aware comedy about movies.
Caught the picture in Toledo, OH at a wonderful Showcase Cinema. Arrived there about 15 min. early to a God-like bellow that the Preview was sold out. Thank you, movietickets.com. Long-winded post made short: Dawson and Pie Fucker have now been moved from my personal "lame" list to the prestigious "cool" list. The fact that those two are so self-deprecating reeks of "hip." JSBSB even has a script that gives Will Ferrell comedy fodder that he can revel in rather than wallow in as per his previous flicks. The house was packed with Askewers who chuckled at every in-joke. It was like watching the movie with this board ... minus the poor spelling. I kid.
JSBSB really is a movie so funny that everyone should see it a few times and alternate laughter so as to catch all of the dialogue. Can't wait to see it again next Friday. And Saturday. And on and on until I run out of friends with whom to see it (so, like, Sunday).
