: well ya know Mallrats is a Universal movie, so that's why i guess, and yeah I haven't seen banky in any trailers or TV spots

They already show Jason Lee as Brodie. Showing him as Banky would just confuse the easily-stupefied audiences. Usually, the only time in a trailer they reveal a double-role is if one costume involves a big false nose and a funny hat. Same reason why they don't show Ben Affleck in both of his roles.

And, not having seen the movie, I'd imagine that Brodie's portion of the film is better suited to explain the plot in a trailer.
