it's such a serious charge (the "boy cry wolf") and it contradicts
everything I so far know of Kevin's nature. By telling his artistic truth
he draws flak; he's got his alchemy where he transforms mammon life into

things freedom of speech. To suggest (as given these times and Hollywood
itself) that he set out to court objections which could be turned to boffo
B.O. is a terrible suspicion indeed. You say he has in effect been
corrupted by power and is in it for the money? This is only, what, his
fourth film, the wrap-up, hellzapoppin of the New Jersey trilogy. Be sure
it isn't envy with which you do battle. If the film does well he will be
allowed to make more movies, and to develop as an artist, one we can
believe in, and lend our support to. Yes he is brilliant, but in no way
devious. Wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove, present tense. Must get
