The donation wouldn't be to GLAAD, it would be to the Matthew Shepherd Foundation, in the exact same spirit that Kevin originally agreed to donate to it. It's NOT any kind of admission of guilt. It's a gesture of support for both Kevin, who is being unfairly attacked and the fight against homophobia. hell, I'm not sending GLAAD any money after this fiasco. I'll support gay rights elsewhere.
Also, this donation thing can be done more quickly than you think. The flick doesn't open for 3 weeks. That's plenty of time. A bunch of Russell Crowe fans made donations to Texas Children's Hospital (here in Houston, where I am) and sent in over $19,000 dollars in around 2 weeks.

: if we did we would have just been taken in by their scam as well...we shouldn't have to feel guilty about our beliefs, or the things we say...especially when the things kevin said were not even what he said
: if people want to make a donation to a cause they believe in, fine...but it is silly to organize the board into giving a donation to GLAAD or one of their recognized charities simply because they got bent out of shape at what amounts to their ignorance, not view askew's
: i won't be guilted into giving money to someone who is offended by something i say...it's a common street scam by GLAAD, nothing more, nothing less
