Here is my email to GLAAD, Thank you Kevin for standing up to the strong arm tactics of GLAAD.

Dear Glaad,
Regarding the “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” issue.

You are not above humor. You are not owed any special treatment in any way. You do not have the right to strong-arm anyone just because they hurt your precious feelings. People make fun of other people in this society everyday - it is human nature.

Your organization is founded in a victim mentality. You feel that everything is against you and you have to struggle to make it in the world today. You believe that every single word uttered about the gay community must be glowing with love and compassion. You are demanding that people feel a certain way. It goes against everything that is right, everything that our country was founded on and everything that the gay community should cherish. What you do is no different than the religious right demanding that Marilyn Manson cease to exist simply because they disagree with him.

Our society has turned into a bunch of wishy-washy babies who are more interested in their feelings than what they actually do or say. There is too much "calling for" in our society. I cannot believe the nerve of your organization to ask for guilt induced donations to charitable causes to atone for actions YOU perceive as "wrong". I also cannot believe that you asked to meet with Mr. Smith to discuss how he would be interviewed about the film. "Mr. Smith - we want to make sure that you say the right things to the press". The nerve! Kevin Smith owes you nothing. He is a free citizen of the United States of America. He can make any movie he wants using any jokes he chooses. He can love or hate homosexuals it is his choice NOT YOURS! As he has stated many times he is not homophobic. Even though he should not have to make such statements to pacify your threatened smear campaigns, he did. Strong-arming someone into saying what you want doesn't mean anything. It actually dilutes your position.

Your organization is flirting with Nazi like actions when you TELL people how they should answer questions about a movie that you did not write, did not produce, did not star in. All you did was buy a ticket and if you didn't like it TOUGH. Get over it!

Thank You,
David Morris
