Neil was right: If they were concerned at all about the message this film *may* send to some people, they'd work with Kevin to make sure that viewers know, going in, that if they come out thinking 'God those fag jokes were SO TRUE!' that's the result of their poor intellegence and not a reflection of the filmmaker's intent. But, no. Instead they said they were going to ask Mirimax for 200-g's.
We presume then, that if Mirimax said, '200 g's ARE YOU NUTS?' and hung up the phone, GLAAD would protest the film; Whereas, if Mirimax agreed to the 'donation', they would be effectively buying GLAAD's silence. That's extortion; there's no two-ways about it.
Isis, if you don't give me five dollars I'm gonna smash your windsheild. Extortion, no? There you go, same thing - only the stakes are different.
