As a cradle catholic who has spent a lifetime being questioned about his faith, I think I've become relatively confident in swatting down fundamentalists.
Unlike most steaming catholics, however, I found your movie more enlightening than offensive. Of course I could see where a lot of them would get offended.
But I also see where they're insecurities and weak faith have made them lash out against you (if Kevin Smith is reading this, then this "you" applies to him and not you if you are not Kevin Smith). When I didn't know much about the reasons for some of catholic church's I was twice as defensive as I am now. Now, I'm calm, cool, logical, reasonable, etc.
So, I am now trying to put my own beliefs on the page, regarding purgatory, heaven, hell, divorce. The things that usually send people to their local Lutheran or Methodist churches.
Again, thanks for the inspiration and the challenge to find mistakes in the ways we accept our faith.
Okay, I'm babbling.
