I'm pretty certain it's a mistake, but there's nothing wrong with pointing it out so that perhaps the problem can be remedied. Hopefully Vin or somebody will reassure you soon that Aug. 22 is indeed the opening date. If so you might want to call the station and let them know that they're running an ad with the wrong date and they might want to fix this so as to avoid paying the price, as you mentioned. Otherwise, it's Dimension's money, so I suppose it's up to them to make sure all the stations have the correct date.
We all know the standards Fox keeps though...sheesh. I'm willing to bet that it's that particular station's mistake.

: Well, the commercial ran on Fox 32 in chicago. Considering it's a major market, one would think that things would be checked. I work at a newspaper in the advertising department, and we triple-check our movie ads... It's a seriously big deal because if a station or newspaper fucks up a movie ad, or any ad for that matter, if the agency chooses, they dont have to pay for the ad. Now, you're talking about a 30 sec. spot during prime time in a high-rated show. That's a LOT of money.
