Makes alot more sense to me now. Thanks for answering. Much appreciated =)
: : Ok....so I was watching my Superman collection yesterday and this thought crossed my mind. If Superman is from Krypton, why is it that Kryptonite can kill him?
: I'm nso not a topic cop, but c'mon. This, and the "trivia" question above are kinda not what the board is meant for, but hey! Eff rules. Here am your answers:
: Krypton, in exploding, became sort of radioactively toxic in the explosion. As it stands, the big S is nigh-invulnrable to EARTHLY radiation, but that special brand of Kryptonian radiation is like poison to him.
: Used to be, back before Marv Wolfman and George Perez blew up the DC universe, there were many different forms of Kryptonite. Red kryptonite would cause some bizzare, but temporary, mutation in Supes, Green kryptonite as just the vanilla-deadly kind, BLUE kryptonite didn't affect him at all, but acted like Green Kryptonite to Bizzaro..And the seldom seen GOLD kryptonite would permanently rob a Kryptonian of his powers. And, according to Richard Pryor, if you tried to make fake kryptonite, and used cigarette tar, it would turn him evil.
: I think the "losing power" theme in SUPERMAN II was a nod to the Gold Kryptonite, and the fake kryptonite in III was, in essence, a re-working of the old "red kryptonite" issues of the 60s.

: I don't get it. Also, in Superman 2 when he changes into a mortal for Lois, he is told by his mother that he can never change back.
: THe movie was dumb. Why could Zod lift stuff with a pointed finger? What was that plastic logo thing that got thrown? The movie was bad. I thought that even as a kid, watching it in the theater for the 1st time.
