Shock UK release Date

I had to express my dismay at the massive gap between the UK and US release date - the film will be released in many non-english speaking countries FIRST!!!

US release: 22nd August
UK release: 21st December

4 MONTHS!!!!!!!

That's a real slap in the face to a fan like myself. I've been a big fan since Clerks and have been enjoying the DVDs loads.

In this day and age of readily accessible media over the internet and other sources, all the US hype and excitement will be dead and buried by christmas. Which, I suspect will leave the UK a little cold (excuse the pun) by the time the film finally does come around. The US vibe and excitement does reach us here in the UK and it defnitely influences movie going. Dare I even mention how open to pirating this delay leaves the movie in the UK.

I'm not blaming the folks at View Askew - as has been heard on DVD after DVD, studios and distributors have a whole lot of influence on what happens after the movie has been made....and sometimes during.

I just wanted somewhere to whinge where people might be a bit sympathetic :-) Personally I'm going to try somewhere like priceline.com to make stupidly low offers on flights to New York around the beginning of Sept! You never know ;-)
