I'm a huge Tracy Ullman fan and a huge fan of Monty Python, but what is the difference between Ullman and Maria Bamford or Cheri Oteri? Is it the accent that makes it funny or words like "bugger" and "bloody hell"? I'm not trying to be malicious to the Brits or anything, but I've always been curious as to what the british people consider to be "British comedy" like they own it. According to the hot ass Spice Girl on the Daily Show, british comedy is "irony and sarcasm" to which the MAN Jon Stewart replied: "Sarcasm? Oh we dont use that in America, here I'm just Freddy Fartjoke.". Which, as he stated later, was obviously sarcasm.
Now, when I see Monty Python commercials, the only thing I see that Americans dont do regularly is run around in parks and kick each other in the ass. If thats comedy, then you people are sheltered. But, then again, it looks like Jackass Johnny Knoxville has stolen your comedy. Better go smash him with a block while you drink your vodkas like on another "classic" AbFab.
Peace.
