After seeing the flick tonight I can honestly say that not only is this thing a fan boys dream flick, but it is also goddamn funny. The word of mouth on this one alone is going to get them knocking the doors down to get in.
The way I figure it, Mallrats has become almost a cult classic on video. If everyone that went nuts for 'rats on video went to see this flick ALONE it would make some coin. I think it's going to appeal to an even greater audience though.
Too bad the tv commercials just can't be Jay's Chant 2001... I bet those would bring 'em in in droves.
Also, after seeing the movie I am going to break out the interview from the Dogma press junket I was involved with. Kevin gives a great little tirade about Internet posters that I think shows that the idea for this flick has probably been brewing in the back of his brain since this site opened!
