They're right - you can't quit unless you want to, and all the pestering in the world isn't going to change that. Personally, every time I see one of those fucking "Truth" commercials, I light up a cigarette.
Most of the country (US) is populated with militant self-righteous non-smokers. Diners are the practically only type of restaurant you can smoke in without having to crowd up to the bar. I've even been given dirty looks for smoking as I walk down the street in Manhattan. I'm OUTSIDE, fuckers!!!
Unlike most of the smokers I know, I haven't at any point tried to quit. I haven't tried, because I don't currently want to. When I want to, I won't try, I'll quit. Yes, I know exactly how hard it is, but I also know that there are lots of things to help out these days. Quitting cold turkey is insanely hard, and I ain't gonna do THAT.
Look, non-smokers. You've got the planes. You've got the restaurants. You've got the office buildings, the airports, you've got EVERYTHING non-smoking. What I, and any other smoker, chooses to do to themselves is our own concern, so get off our fucking backs about it, OK?

: You can't even light up in a restaurant either? Right, this now needs to be said - I will never stop smoking because if I did, I wo8uld risk turning into a whiney, nasty, self-righteous non-smoker, and I couldn't abide for that to happen.
: To get back to the original subject, it's entirely up to Kevin whether he smokes or not, and nobody ever quits unless they actually want to.
