: I think age of admission is up to the theather when they show an unrated flick. For example, when REQUIEM FOR A DREAM was released Artisan told theather owners to treat the movie as a film for the 18+ audience. As a result, no one under 18 was admitted (for the most part).

This is right, and they did the same thing with CENTER OF THE WORLD (which deserved the treatment much more than REQUIEM did). They even sent posters for the theater to put up on the marquee stating this.

: I also remember someone saying on the film-411 board (the name escapes me) that they got into HAPPINESS (another unrated film) when they were 15. Hope that a) that helps and b) that I am accurate.

That was me. Back when that film came out Columbine hadn't happened yet and the whole debate of movies and kids and blah blah blah hadn't come up yet. There are no laws governing who can see unrated films (like they aren't for MPAA rated in 49 states) except for pornography, which I've always wondered what classifies. Would it be a crime to admit someone under 18 to THE IDIOTS or the newly released BAISE-MOI (which has a no one under 17 policy at the theater here)?

Anyway, Lions Gate did send GODS AND MONSTERS out without a rating (presumably just to save money, it would have been an easy R) and sent no recommendations. Maybe they'll do the same for VULGAR, but I sort of think they'll use the content controversy to attact an audience.
