Legend (although that's a movie better seen on something a bit more, ah, visual)
Yellow Submarine (see above)
Half Baked, of course, but also 200 Cigarettes if only for the Dave Chappelle scenes
Dude Where's My Car (a brilliant piece of cinema that I cannot even bring myself to elaborate upon yet -- suffice it to say it is genius)
The Little Mermaid, Disney version (I'm not joking)
Fantasia
Elmo in Grouchland (again, no jokes; Elmo's debut is Oscar-worthy)
The Dark Crystal
Any Muppet movie
Scrapple (this is an indie, probably hard to find)
Dazed and Confused (naturally, but not Slackers...the meandering camerawork will send you straight to sleep)
Easy Rider
The Doors
Time Bandits
Pleasantville
Human Traffic (more of a rave movie, but still excellent)

And the BEST smoking movie of all time, no joke, assuming you're going for funny lackadaisical type things rather than big special effects, is "The Four Corners of Nowhere", a very excellent indie that's probaby also pretty hard to find. IFC plays it every now and then.

One thing I can warn you of: never, never see "Saving Private Ryan" in any kind of altered state of mind. I will never forgive myself.
