Yeah, it was. Fantastic, really. Well written, well acted... gorgeous. But I understand why it was cut. The big drama scene was supposed to be back at the church, not in the bar. Still, thanks to the wonder of digital technology and our friends at View Askew, we DID get to see it, so that's something, right? I wish it'd included those seconds of fucked-up Hellish imagery, though.
The quality of the cut sequences doesn't make me feel that we're being let in on any secret, especially since Vincent told us it wasn't SUPPOSED to look like that. Actually, it kind of amazes me that the cut scenes are... or, were supposed to be... of such HIGH quality. It just goes to show that no scene, however early in the process it was cut, was ever meant to be anything but a part of the whole.
Still wish we could have seen that Hosties animatic, though. Ah, well. Can't have everything, I suppose.
