I posted this question on the last board for Kevin or anyone else who may be "in the know".
Is the "Fat Albert" scene from DOGMA meant to be an homage of sorts to the "Tequila" scene from PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE? Or did Pee-Wee lift it from another "more important" movie that I should know about... but don't?
I realize the whole "Our hero(s) do something to make the bad guy laugh so they don't get killed" is a plot device used on everything from Saturday morning cartoons to sitcoms. Did I just answer my own question? Hmmmm...
