If so the upcoming 2-disc special edition has been know about for a long time. In fact even before the standard edition was released last year Kevin told fans that the special edition was coming and to hold out for that. The only reason that 1 disc edition exists is because the studio wanted to get the film out to the public and Kevin didn't want to rush the special features he (and the rest of the VA camp) where working on. It's kinda tough if you've already bought the film but it's not Kevin's fault as he did warn us far in advance.
As for the other films - it's not my position to say they'll never be re-released in different edition sometime in the future. But there are no immediate plans for this.
