: - Current running time of the flick is 102 minutes. That's what we'll be
: testing next week in Arizona. We cut eight minutes (hopefully the right
: eight minutes) from the version we tested a few weeks ago.

I don't get it. The 110 minute version tested so very well. Why cut some laughs? Or possibly change the flow of something that worked, and with sliver-y cuts, risk making it work LESS, especially when it's such a negligible time differential?

Why is there an imperative to shave 8 minutes off? Is that some sort of key fulcrum time when a comedy becomes "too long?"

Who hands down these "lines in the sand" of running time? Is it self imposed, or at the behest of the studio, and if so, with what criteria do they determine a more "appropriate" length?
