I finally get what this board is about! Its for muttonhead wannabes to post ridiculous "How do I" questions, which usually start out like this, "KEV, I am young film maker and want to know how do I [fill in the blank]," when what they really want to know is, how can I be like Kev. Hum this ditty and see if it reminds you of any former BBall star, "Like Kev, I wanna be like Kev." What I did not realize was just how many "auteurs" there are out there, and you'd think that everyone in the world wants to be director. You know, the world needs more directors, like JFK needs another hole in the head. Besides, do you think that - and by no means do I believe I speak for Kevin Smith, but I think as a creative individual this shit confounds me - Mr. Smith went to the Spielberg bulletin board like this and asked the same questions? Or, do you think maybe possibly instead of sucking major dick, Kevin's talent made him the director of the slacker generation? To say otherwise is to say that talent means nothing, and the only way you make it is by suckling anothers tit, like those fish that hang around great white sharks, who when the sharks kill prey eat the detritus left over from the kill, never having actually killed something themselves. I don't bother other architects with similiarly retarded questions, because I know what I want to do, I know how I want to do it, and I never had to ask, I'm just confident in the direction I want to go in, and follow my convictions and let my integrity be the guide. Did I miss something then? Maybe I am in the wrong place, I am just an architect, should I not be here? Don't get me wrong, I love what everyone posts, I mean shiite, it's more entertaining than "Must See TV," where else can I see one dolt ask the how do I question, get slammed by Pseudo, and then 5 minutes later someone will ask the same question, christ even "Friends" reruns don't air that quick.
Oh, before I forget - because unlike some I have a job - Jay and Silent are fictional characters correct? Or, is Kevin really Silent Bob? Do you think that he wants be known as Silent Bob for the rest of his life? Do want to be known as blood-sucking wannabes for the rest of yours? You know who you are.
I too like many here have seen the Smithna in public at the store even. My wife and I live near there, and were shopping for stuff, when he, the misses and child came in the store to pick up mail. I knew it was him, but I wanted to give him and his family some space, I figured he probably gets people coming up to him all the time, no matter what the situation is, Kev at the urinal - autograph please - kev takes a shit - picture please - and if he doesn't he's a dick. So imagine my surprise when another couple in the store did exactly the opposite, and busted a move on over, pressing themselves between him, his daughter and his wife to get that ever important 3X5 for the album. Dicks! Kevin was cordial, but I think after a while that shit gets old. I love his films, I am a fan, not a fanatic. I love the Steelers, Knicks, Rangers and Mets, yet I could tell you almost nothing about the players on the team, I am a FAN.
Pseudo, you are the man, I appreciate your distance, and your ability to keep this space lively. So, for all you effing douches, kill me crucify me do what you will, I will keep posting. As the Human Torch says, "Flame On", BTW i am a big Doctor Doom fan so, bring the pain!
