Kevin has never been a big 'spoofs' kinda guy. I wouldn't even consider the Batman scene in Mallrats a spoof.
A spoof would be like in Scary Movie, making fun of the hit and run scene from "I Know What You Did Last Summer"
While what Kevin does is more making humourous references to other movies such as Randal's salsa scene in Clerks making reference to Jaws.
Oh, and the Beatles are not overrated. They may not be the greatest band to ever walk the earth, but they reinvented rock music for a new generation.
