: that was sarcasm before some clever newbie replies: "You just did what you told us not to!"...schmucks
It's funny when someone calls someone else a "newbie" to classify them as a dork lower on the dork foodchain than they are, because the person levying the charge THINKS that they are not a part of the greater dork bio-chain.
On ROMPER ROOM, there used to be a guy in a big Bee costume, called "Do-Bee." He was originally a part of a duo- there was a Goofus to his Gallant, so to speak, called "Don't-Bee."
"Don't-Bee" was a mean Bee, who did bad things, and had an angry look. "Do-Bee" was a happy Bee, who had a smiley look. Well, they phased out "Don't-Bee" quick, becuase he freaked the kids out.. ROMPER ROOM was a show where a gaggle of 3 year olds played were on the set. They all cried when Don't-Bee showed up. But the whole original concept of the Twin-Bees was for the ROMPER ROOM staff to tell the kids," Be a "DO-BEE", don't be a "DON'T-BEE."
My point? Please, if I can do one thing, one thing to help geek-culture, it is to demonize the use of the word "newbie." It's exclusionary, clique-y, uber-geeky, and the action of a "DON'T-BEE."
