It's spreading across the globe, like a plague. MTV lost any respect it had, according to me, in about 1996 or 1997, when they started to fire all of their VJs, and hire nerdy, sarcastic white dudes who paint their nails black and refer to something as 'fresh' and 'dope'. Let's just call him Darson Caly.
And then they stopped playing music, and got a whole shitload of shows. I remember when it was just Real World, and then later on it was just Real World and Road Rules. At the time, every other show played music videos...and the entire video, not 50 seconds of it, at that.
And the few amounts of music videos they DO play, suck scrotum sack.
Rap? Pop? What the fuck happened?
If bands like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, and Alice In Chains came out today, instead of the early 90s, they would get NO MTV airplay, and would be less popular, by leaps and bounds. But that's a good thing, me thinks. I don't want good music being corrupted on that satanic channel of chicanery.
So to Jay and Bob being on there, I say, FUCK no, it would be a huge mistake. The last thing we need is for them to be eaten up by 14 year old girls who bring signs to TRL that say 'JASON MEWES IS HOT' with a picture of him putting his tongue between his index and middle-finger in the corner of the poster.
It would be a dark day.
I hate MTV...with a motherfucking passion. I hate music nowadays, altogether.
Thank god for 70s and early 90s rock.
