In the Chasing Amy DVD pamphlet there is an explanation of the View Askew-niverse. It suggests that Clerks takes place on saturday, that Mallrats is a "prequal," taking place on friday, and that Julie Dwyer died on thursday. In the movie Clerks, Randal says that Julie died yesterday, in Mallrats Brandy says that Julie died yesterday. This makes the events in Clerks and Mallrats happen on the same day, and if that is the case, how are Jay and Silent Bob in the same place at the same time?
