Im not trying to be inflammatory, nor am I on the oh so cool bandwagon that wants to dis the good ole U.S. of A. However, in light of this slighty off topic post and its responses there are a couple points that come to my mind and they are as such:
1. America is not a democracy, it is a republic. There IS a slight difference.
2. The winners write history. The losers are the "great satan". That's the way it works in every nation in every society in every stage of the history of this place called earth. You cannot tell me there is no bias involved in historical retelling of events.
3. Do I consider the attack on Pearl Harbor a travesty? Hell, yeah, but can you blame them for finding a weakness and striking? They caught us with our pants down, baby. We've never been the same since that moment. But on that note, how many of you were aware of the concentration camps that existed in America, where countless Americanborn Japanese were herded soley on the basis of ethnicity? I don't recall THAT being in the history books when I was growing up. And don't try to tell me I am pulling your chain, because I live very close to one of these former camps. The nazis were monsters, but we were just protecting ourselves....
Sorry for the rant, just had to throw in my two cents worth. Bottom line though, Pearl Harbor looks like a sapfest(vomit). Cheerio!
