In the early days of email, you could use an autosender to send large files multiple times to an email address. It would crash the email server, pissing off not only the recipient but also his ISP. If it happened a lot the ISP would often turn off the account on the theory that the recipient was doing stupid things a lot. That had a chilling effect on flames. With large inboxes it's harder to do nowadays, but still possible.
