In Chasing Amy, when Holden and Alyssa are on the swings, Holden says, "If I had my finger up my ass, I wouldn't say I've had anal sex." Does he say "if", or is he stating that he has had his finger up up his own ass. I can't quite tell if there is an "if" at the beginning of the line. Thanks, my witless chums.
