Don't worry about it. I used to work for two guys from the south that would frequently use the word "nigger", and would pretty much call all black people by said derogatory word, but swear up and down that they weren't racist. As long as you don't refer to ALL gay people as Queers, faggots, or ass-pumping beef lovers, then you're not a homophobe.
Oh, and I used to live with a friend of mine who was gay, and he gave me permission to use ass-pumping beef lovers, so no picking on me. :)
