It's been a dream for me since... well since I can remember. Like when I was 8 and making little 8mm films of my GI Joes. Well, my high school Video/TV production teacher engrained in our heads that the film/tv industry is insanely cutthroat and that you have to "step on #2 to reach #1". Over the course of 3 years with his constant warnings of "You need to be an asshole to get ahead in this business. I finally realised I didn't want to HAVE to be an asshole to do anything. So, I quit my study of that industry and went about finding shitty ass jobs.
: A few years later I was introduced to your work as most were through Clerks. It was very cool and I was so happy to see Joe Q. Smith become big. Of course most people were convinced that you'd become just another big hollywood shit head.
: Over the last few months I have come to this board. I have been watching the posts as the filming has been going on and getting to like the VA people more and more. I was an extra at the El Rey and realised that everyone there was just a really cool guy... That's when I realised that my shit head media teacher was wrong. You don't have to be an asshole to get ahead in this industry and in fact that hurts you.

: I just wanted to thank you... I've seen you speak and you're so humble I doubt you'd ever admit it, but you are truly a great role model and I'm happy for having known your work and for getting to know the VA staff as little as I do. I hope someday I can entertain you guys.
