It all comes down to money. Test screenings are done for business purposes. Those putting up the cabbage want to make sure that what they are fronting will be worth it. Yes viewaskew fans will flock to see it but that alone will not bring in the money that is needed. It also gives those in creative control to tweak what may need to be adjusted such as time and some basic plotlines. Don't worry about missing a thing though. With DVD out there fans will very rarely miss out on seeing anything they would have liked to see in the theatrical release.
