A couple of years ago you and Scott Mosier, Jason Lee and Jason Mewes came to USC and did a Q&A after a screening of Chasing Amy. That night you went on this HUGE rant about how you hate "A Film by ---" credit. About how it is pretentious and bullshit because film is a collaborative medium and other people bust their asses just as hard to make a film. You said what's appropriate (and what you'd always would use) is "Written and Directed by ---" and that should be enough to convey any sense of auteurism (if that's a word)on a film. That really made an impression on me as an aspiring filmmaker and was totally cool (you guys were also f**kin hilarious and informative). Now I go onto Coming Attractions site to see Jay and Silent Bob's superhero costumes and I pass by a scan of publicity materials for your new film and on the bottom of the Empire Strikes back type logo for your new flick is "A Film by Kevin Smith" What the fuck? I'm not trying to throw a dig, It's just a little disappointing, in a "Say it ain't so, Kev." kind of way. Peace out.
