"Fight For Your Right" was a joke. They were completely mocking drunken jocks, and it was sad, because the joke went way over their heads, and the drunks became their target audience. The way they acted back then was never serious, they were mocking the type of people that they disliked.
though I do agree that the music sucks now, the first 3 albums after they dropped the "drunk" act, were amazing.
who knows why Yauch turned Kevin down, but I don't think the Beastie Boys have EVER been on a soundtrack, so it's probably nothing personal.
: This man used to be a hero when I was younger - Fight For Your Right was the ultimate party tune to me when I was sixteen. Damnit - my band at school even used to play it at dances. Now he doesn't even play the tune at concerts.
