I of course realize I am most likely not the only person who works in a video store, but I will make it my personal duty to report any comments and or situations regarding the View Askew films. This is something that actually happened quite some time ago but it made my heart soar. A man in his late fourties or early fifties came up to the counter renting Chasing Amy.( Now here is where I hastily generalize the age group of Kevin's fan base) I assumed he was renting it for his kid or something. Then he started talking. At this point I tend to tune out anything the customer is saying. However I felt I should listen to this fellow. A kindred spirit? He explained to me that he had just seen Dogma and absolutely loved it. He then heard that Chasing Amy and Clerks were made by the same gentleman. Then I told him that Mallrats was also part of the series. He was so excited and with an "Aww, what the heck" attitude went and grabbed Mallrats and Clerks. I explained to him the proper order to watch them and sent him on his way. He was the cuteist (sp?) middle-aged man I had ever seen. It's these moments that make it all worth while. Working in my shithole job that is. Later.
