: : August 24th... hmm... isn't the end of August reserved for films that were supossed to be good but after bad test screenings are moved to the dog days of August?

: Yes yes, like those box office mega-dudes SCARY MOVIE and BLADE. Good call, junior.

: :I can't imagine this picture making more than 8 million dollars it's first week.

: Don't imagine with your head, PrinceRules. IMAGINE WITH YOUR HEART. If you truly want to imagine JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK will make over eight million dollars, then you can, for the MAGIC IS IN YOU.

: :They should move the film into the fall, say mid September unless they're going to have a kickass marketing campaign.

: So August 24, is a-no good, but mid September, yes, now you're getting it, Miramax. Are you thinking the kids will be back in college or do you just think the words "mid-september" sound silly and fun?

: :I'm not much of a fan of Miramax anyway -- they ruined the Hellraiser franchise, making the original director of Hellraiser: Bloodlines cut out seems and let some dumbass (who butchered Halloween 6) reshoot scenes.

: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! He booted the genius director of HELLRAISER BLOODLINES from his own epic work and then hired THAT AWFUL HACK who did Halloween 6 to reshoot? Jesus Beezus, that's as bad as replacing, I don't know, the director of HOUSE 2 with the director of SATURDAY THE 14th STRIKES BACK!

: :You can cry all day that "Weinstein made Scream a huge hit!" but the truth is that those movies are terrible, especially Scream 2 and Scream 3.

: I would cry about it all day, but I gotta spend my time thinking of stuff other than other people's movies. You seem to really like doing it, can you just do it for the both of us?

: :It's also true that those films had a built in audience and word of mouth helped Scream making 100 million.

: A built in horror audience? Weren't horror films, like, dead at that point? No sir, I think we have the Miramax publicity machine to thank for that one. And that, the first movie was, what's the word, good. But if you wish to think that "word of mouth helped Scream making 100 million" then you go ahead.

: :Kevin Smith would be wise to stay true to himself and film the movie he wants to (like he always has) but sell-out and send Ben Asslick to MTV's Total Request Live.

: And Ben's an asslick why? Or were you just so proud of your Mad-magazine worthy new moniker for Ben that you just had to test it out?

: :We all know that MTV sucks and that Viacom is attempting to rule the world but what the hell. When is the last time you saw any good music on MTV? They don't even play Prince music. They don't show any old videos from The Time. They tried to jump on the David Gray bandwagon but that's about it.

: You're like Andy Rooney with tourettes. Stick to a topic and go with it, Thatcher.

: :I don't see any real artists making music and getting play on MTV. For you wacky canadians, I don't see anything better from MUCHMUSIC, either. Is Ben Asslick from Canada? :)

: Oh-ho-ho, Ben Asslick indeed! And then the smiley face right after, as if to say, "it's all good, Ben, I'm just kidding, you're not an asslick, look man, smile, it's free, and hey...great job in BOUNCE".

: : peace, Lou (writer for "Superman Lives")

: You are? Is this one of those imagination things again? Well, assuming Warner Brothers is suddenly into writers that come up with funny names like Ben Asslick (Here's one: CLARK KUNT! Oh, oh, here's another, LOIS LABIA!) but can't stay on one topic ("Okay, first scene, Superman's saving some kids from terrorists! And then, he goes to the Daily Planet and...what's with my shoes! They are so tight! He talks to Lex Luthor and he's all like, you know, I can't imagine BLADE 2 making more than 5 mill opening weekend), I have some advice for you...

: 1. Don't open on August 24. Wait until mid-september.
: 2. Don't get an awful director like the guy who did Halloween 6. Get a great director like the guy who did Hellrasier 4.
: 3. Learn to write.

: I hope this helps. Let you get back to the script.
