Making movies on film will go the way of the 8-track tape. I think it'll take quite a few years, because there are those who won't give up on film, just like Burt Reynolds in Boogie Nights. But sooner or later, all film companies will use digital technology due to cost & efficiency. I would say it will take 10 years, maybe longer, but digital filmmaking will take over.
