I hate it with a mighty passion. For all you Americans wondering, it goes like this (displayed Canadian rating -- American Equivalent)
G - G
PG - PG, some PG-13
14A - Some PG-13, mostly an R
R - NC-17

The way it works is that PG-13 movies get divided between PG and 14A. And about 95% of R ratins get in the 14A category as well. But if a movie gets the Canadian R, it's instant death. Final Destination got an R, but was then edited for Canadian thaters for a 14A the next week. Of course, it made more in it's second week than it's first. Dogma, however, got an R rating here, and pissed off many a young Kevin Smith fan. Especially since films known for MPAA battles (South Park, Scary Movie) received a 14A no sweat.

Damn you Canada.
